SO! As some might be aware I have gotten a new laptop, to replace my old clunky tank of a Dell 610. The dell still works just not well so this is a first for me. Replacing my computer with another computer while the first is in nearly perfect working order.

But, it was still a good choice, I love this machine and Windows 7 isn't annoying me as much as I thought it would. I'm shocked by this turn of events too.

Now, my new laptop (named OrbisPictus in honor of Ayase Yue's artifact in Negima, I would have left the full name in but that got a bit long... anyway, it's an Acer Timeline 1410 (in black, and obviously its Windows 7 not Vista). A tine little wide screen top of the line nearly new laptop. It isn't actually new as the 1410 was discontinued for a new TimelineX line of... mostly the same but slightly better and more expensive form of this one.

This is phase one in my plan to return to school (probably next fall, using this spring to get work). As I slowly gather the tools I feel I'll need to be able to manage in school. The first, and most prominent being a slim portable laptop that's easy to carry and slip into a backpack. Next is a new backpack, and the standard fare of school supplies. The backpack I should get before the end of this UPS peak season. So wish me luck on my cunning long term planning of stuff!

Now then, on work. I was surprised to start work so early in November, but it's a good surprise... except I've managed to injure my ankle already. Usually I go a full season and I'm just sore. I think I've been pushing myself a bit hard with the hour walk to and from work every day. I should probably figure out the bus route and do that instead. It killed my cleaning plans this weekend slightly. I can still manage but I can't do any heavy lifting (and there's some furniture I need to get rid of).

Hopefully if I take it easy and switch what bag I carry stuff to work in my ankle will be fine for next week.

Like last one, it'll probably go away if I ignore it and don't tweak the googledoc I made for it. :x

Alright, so I beat Birth By Sleep in like a... week, save that one bossfight I should try again on soon. Anyway, I was kinda looking for general feedback on game premise and ideas for the game and how insane I am for wanting to make this work. This'll be cliffnotes (or as close as I can get to not teal deering all over all ya).

If you really thought this would be short and concise... HA! )

Rak cannot sleep, so Rak is going to just think about who else might show up in the next incarnation of Super Smash Fantasy Who-needs-the-laws-of-Physics:

1. Not every title will get more cast. (been stated)
2. Despite how I might really rather every game gets a new female character giving the female cast an actual sizable count... I shouldn't get my hopes up so I won't be suggesting female cast universally (just where they make sense).
3. I am mostly suggesting new heroes because... well... there aren't a lot of good villains per title.
4. FF4 and 7 have new cast already. So I am ignoring them.

Anyway, TO THE THOUGHTS:
- Yuna is almost for sure going to be in the game. Probably out of her FFX-2 moves and persona. So she might get a rotatable ability set based on Dress spheres. Song and Gun dresses being the most likely as they are the most iconic. With her uberdress of massive damage being on the line as her Ex-Burst. I don't suggest her
- With Yuna being all Guns are good, we need someone to be the cast Summoner. The most iconic choice for that is Garnet from FFIX. A mix of White Magic and Summons to cover her nifty powers, and her combat can be a mix of Rods and Rackets. That gives her enough I'd say to take a spot.
- FF1, 3, and 11 are all good choices to not get new cast members. Due to their less-than-named cast as it is, and the last one being an MMORPG.
- FF2 will probably land a villain, or either of Firion's friends. I'm not really sure what the heroes will do since Firion does everything. Anyway we need more villains so let's get one here. *shrug*
- FF5 will probably give us another female... just based on have many female options. I have no idea what they will do for abilities as... its a game with every character getting the same class options.
- FF6 will probably not get Locke as we have Zidane, I don't see much Locke can give in combat Zidane doesn't do already. I am horrible for saying this, but there it is. I would probably say Edgar is the best choice if his various Machine attacks can be used. If not, Sabin and Mog are both very possible. Sabin is more me wishfully thinking, he suplexed a TRAIN.
- FF8, I would say, would be a good choice for a 'villain' to take their third slot. In this case Seifer. ...mostly because he and Squall rematching would be badass. Yup, totally objective view here!
- FF12 will probably only get 1 new character, and it'll be Ashe. It needs an actual hero.
- FF13 I have no idea who will sit for its villain slot. Orphan kinda lacks... humanity. Cid maybe? I don't want it getting 3 people off the bat. The only way 13 gets more cast is if the Post Game Secret Cast are from Agito and Versus.
- ...I would be very happy if any of the kids from Agito was playable.

So Degrassi hit the halfway point on Season 10. A season of all sorts of firsts and I loved it. As I look back I think about what they did, how I went into the season, and how I came out of it. The cast this season is really strong compared to earlier seasons (...except Leia).

I really doubt anyone cares about spoilers but this is a review, it'll be long as hell so I'll just cuttext to be safe for everyone.

So on Saturday I went to see Scott Pilgrim vs. the World. By Sunday I finished reading the books. Now, I mused over which I liked more, which did 'it' better. I've come to the conclusion that they both did 'it' better in different ways, each one has its faults and advantages.
This is a Cuttext for Spoilers and me rambling on and on and on... )

Okay, I will probably not edit this, I wrote it simply to get it out of my brainspace. Cut for unreasonably long thing to write for such a purpose.

For those confused, this is entirely based on XI, listening to Poets of the Fall, and a What if Wednesday from FOREVER AGO. Rated GD for GRIMDARK:

Really Brain, are you happy now? )

Okay, so, I've had this RP idea in my head for the past... since midnight. Been tweaking with it, toying with the idea, sculpting it into something remarkably seductive. It's the sorta game I wanna play in, not run though. Mostly due to laziness.

Anyway, if you've never seen "Life After People," watch it. It's interesting. It's also the basis of this world design. The world your character wakes up in has been abandoned. Cities overrun by wildlife and vegetation, buildings beginning to succumb to erosion and decay. The world has been consumed by the nature Humans destroyed, or nearly did. You arrive in the game several months after you arrive in the world. Mostly as a means to make sure no matter who you play, they can at least feed themselves. And know how not to get eaten by the bear. Possibly even know how to eat the bear too.

Here's a GoogleDoc of my notes.
Here's a GoggleDoc of an app sample.

Comments, crits, wild accusations? Really, I'm all ears.

Alright, for those wondering what this is, I'm doing a quick process of elimination for who is the most likely to end up with Negi at the end of the series Negima. For those of you that don't care, by all means leave my journal. Those of you that care, but are not totally caught up on the manga... thar be spoilers ahead. For those of you who are diehard Negi/Asuna shippers... sorry.

Let's just cut this down a little here... )

UPS employees like to cross the street, we deliver stuff to your doors, and to the stores you buy from. STOP AND LET US FUCKING CROSS THE STREET!

REALLY, IT TAKES YOU THREE SECONDS, LET US CROSS.

UnRelated note: Anyone know where I can buy the hat for Pokemon Trainer (Fire Red/Leaf Green era male Trainer's hat)?

Svalinn - Cargoship
Length: 260 Feet
Date of Completion: Oct. 6th
Weapons:
    2x Thundara-G
    2x Comet-G
Notes:
    - Four Holy-G engines
    - Xanatos Enterprises ShieldX-G provide unparalleled defensive shielding.
    - Mid-Grade Warp Gummi for emergencies.
    - Raven Stealth gummi provides complete protection from homing weapons.
    - Large cargo and crew space.
Req.Crew:
    - 1 Pilot needed. Best crewed by 4 people to oversee all aspects of the ship's systems.

Tyrfing - Scout/Fighter
Length:  60 Feet
Date of Completion: Oct. 26th
Weapons:
4x Xanatos Enterprises Energy Gatling Cannons (EGC)
    - Crystals used to focus the Shots may be customized for variable Magic effect.
    - 500 round energy reserve per EGC.
4x Magenra Emmiters
    - Adjust the flight paths of the weapons fire in real time. Only viable in the second seat.
    - Tuned to the gun they adjust for, have no defensive ability.
1x Xanatos Enterprises Energy Heavy Cannon (EHG)
    - Designed to fire a high damage beam for a duration of 4 seconds, 1 second warm-up.
    - Enough energy reserve for 6 shots.
Notes:
    - Xanatos Enterprises specialized Engines, maneuverable in both space and sky.
    - Low power Warp Gummi. Able to move maybe 2 worlds at a time with an hour recharge cycle, 3 worlds if you push it.
    - Small, easily able to fit on board Svalinn or Gungir.
    - Comfortably (if you both know each other WELL) carries a crew of 2. Can be crewed alone.
    - Minimal shielding, relies more on able pilot to keep from getting shot.

Gungir - Flagship
Length: 800 Feet
Date of Completion: Nov. 27th
Weapons:
8x Xanatos Enterprises Energy Heavy Turrets (EHT)
    - Similar to the Tyrfing's EHG weapon, but mounted turrets instead of a single direction cannon.
    - TWO ARE NON-FUNCTIONAL
1x Xanatos Enterprises Dual Phase Particle Beam Cannon (DP-PBC)
    - High powered devastation weapon, best used against large targets with nobody you care about in front of you.
    - Takes 4 minutes to charge the reactors and has a 20  minute cool-down time. 2 shots in a row is survivable but not advised.
    - Nicknamed "Wing Buster Mega-Cannon" by Rakath when he first read the designs.
    - All weapons pull energy from the same power generators, meaning most of the time the power systems do not have a natural limit. But both weapons cannot be active  at once. Charging the PBCannon means all the Heavy Turrets must be shut down.
    - NOT FINISHED
Notes:
    - The ship is large and has as much room designed for leisure as it does for function. However its Pianos are not tuned.
    - There's additional shielding built around important areas of the ship (engine room, bridge, ballroom).
    - The ships size limits its speed. It requires special engine mode to travel between world which takes power from the other systems. When the weapons are active it is not very maneuverable. Its warp gummi is strained by the ship's size.
    - Can maintain defensive fire while landed (using the above turrets. The engines being inactive allows the shielding extra power to utilize to cover the whole top of the ship.
    - The Engines and shields pull from the same power system. The Weapons on their own system covering other parts of the ship systems (lights, environmental, etc). With someone in the engine room to maintain the generators you can shift systems from one generator to another.
Req.Crew
    - The ships flight requires at least 2 people. 8 people would be needed to properly maintain the ship (4 on the Bridge, 2 in the Engine room, 2 able to move to repair damage elsewhere on the ship) and this is using AI and robots to cover the slack.

Rakath as you know is a Gunslinger, swords are for people that want to get stabbed, Sniper Rifles are for people that wanna help without getting in the way.

So to cover the details on his current armaments:

Handguns: Munkir and Nakir )

Rifle: Zadiel )

Shotgun: Campbell )

Xanatos can make these weapons for others, but you have to pay him. Also provide your own ammo. He also has to like you and feel you having the weapon might help him out later. Rakath won't help you get one either, unless you're Ash who deserves the Boomstick.
